A sailor in the Indian Navy, Murali Kumar never had the wildest idea that one day he will be an Indian bodybuilding icon. Murali Kumar is a well-respected professional bodybuilder from Kerala, India. He’s known for his complete dedication to the bodybuilding lifestyle, which has allowed him to rise to the top of the Indian rankings. Aged 35, Murali started lifting at relatively late age of 25. Today Murali becomes the undisputed Mr. India for the past two years (2013 and 2014) non stop. He also performed fantastically at the Asian Bodybuilding Championship held in Vietnam in 2012. All this combined makes him the top most bodybuilder of India, presently.
Birth and Early Life:-
Murali Kumar was born and grownup in a state on India’s Malabar tropical coast Kottayam in Kerala. He had a very lively upbringing, playing a number of sports including cricket and soccer. Main passions of Murali were electronics and fixing computers. Murali studied software engineering due to this interest in electronics. He enjoyed this course a lot and became a software engineer in his local town; but murali said that he wanted to do something more “active” with his life.
This need for physical activity inspired Murali to join the Indian Navy. He greatly enjoyed this new career path, but he unfortunately broke his leg during training, which forced him out of service. As part of the recovery process, the doctor advised him to take up strength training to re-build his leg muscles. Doctors suggested him to attend the gym and then almost immediately it became Murali’s new passion. He started a strength training program to avoid further injury.
He began to build his physique, and was constantly inspired by his friends to push himself towards professional competitions. He managed to win several amateur shows, before winning Mr India in 2013. Murali has since won several more professional competitions, claiming his spot as one of the best bodybuilders in India.
His diet includes at least
- 50 Egg whites
- lots of green leafy vegetables.
- As per his diet plan, Murali takes a meal after every two and half hours.
- He also takes protein supplement shakes after his workout.
